Sewing for Kids Pockets Pockets Pockets (T)

This is an interactive class where we’ll discuss both the challenges and joys of sewing for the kids in our lives.  Just like adults, children’s bodies vary and during the first part of the class we will examine “fixes” for the differences that make ready-to-wear not so “ready-to-fit” all kids.  Children tend to want to wear clothing that’s comfortable, and we’ll look at different pattern design types that are easy to sew, and make them feel oh, so good. In addition, you’ll get an opportunity to examine a wide variety of fabric types that work well for clothes children find comfortable and discuss the pros and cons of some others. We’ll end looking at a variety of types of embellishments like embroidery, appliqué, the addition of sewn techniques like piping and ruffles, heat transfer vinyl, and many others that set the clothing you create for the kids in your life apart from the mundane. A comprehensive class handout is included.
